What we collect

We only collect personal information we need to answer you and to carry out building work. Depending on how you deal with us, this can include:

• Your name, phone number and email address.
• Details you give us about your project: the type of work, the suburb or site address, your budget range, your timeline, drawings, photos and any other details in your message.
• If you become a client: the property address, contract and payment details, and records of the work, including site photos.
• If you are a trade partner or supplier: business contact details, ABN, licence, registration and insurance details.
• If you apply for a job with us: the details in your application.
• If you subscribe to our updates: your email address.

We do not ask for sensitive information (such as health information) through this website. Please do not include it in an enquiry.

How we collect it

• Directly from you, where we can: through the enquiry form and newsletter form on this website, by phone and email, and in meetings and site visits.
• From someone else involved in your project, such as your architect or designer, building surveyor, insurer, loss adjuster, owners corporation manager, property manager or a person who referred you to us.
• Some of the companies that provide our website hosting, email delivery and project management software store or process data outside Australia, mainly in the United States. We take reasonable steps to use reputable providers that protect personal information.

Browsing this website

You can browse this website without telling us who you are. The cost and value calculators on the Project Value Planner run in your browser: the figures you type into them are not sent to us or to anyone else.

We use Google Analytics to count visits and to see which pages and buttons are used, so we can improve this website. It sets cookies in your browser and sends Google technical details such as your IP address, your device and browser type, the pages you view, and actions such as sending the enquiry form, tapping our phone number or using a calculator. We do not send Google the name, phone number, email address or message you type into our forms. Google may store and process this information outside Australia, under Google's privacy policy. You can stop it by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Blocking cookies in your browser limits what is collected but does not stop it.

Like most websites, our hosting provider records technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, for security and to keep the site running. Project photos and the project suburb map are delivered by specialist image and map services (the suburb map uses OpenStreetMap), which also receive your IP address when those pages load.

The Contact page shows our office on a Google map. When that map loads, Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies, under Google's privacy policy.

Why we collect it and how we use it

• To reply to your enquiry and prepare a quote or proposal.
• To plan, carry out and manage building work, including permits, inspections, insurance and warranty matters.
• To engage and pay trade partners and suppliers.
• To meet our legal obligations, for example under building, workplace safety and tax laws.
• To send you updates and articles, only if you have asked for them.
• To improve our services and handle complaints.

If you do not give us the information we ask for, we may not be able to reply to your enquiry, prepare a quote or carry out the work.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only where it is needed for the purposes above. This can include:

• Trade partners, suppliers and consultants working on your project, such as engineers, designers and building surveyors.
• Councils, regulators, insurers and other authorities, where a permit, inspection, insurance policy or the law requires it.
• Our professional advisers, such as our accountant, insurer and lawyers.
• Companies that provide our business systems: website hosting, email, and project and client management software.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not publish the street address of a client's property on this website.

Marketing emails

We send marketing emails only to people who have asked to receive them or who have an existing relationship with us. Every marketing email names AxisPro Constructions and includes a way to unsubscribe. You can also opt out at any time by contacting us, and we will act on your request within five working days.

How we store and protect it

We hold personal information in our email, document and project management systems, which are protected by passwords and access controls, and in paper files kept at our office. We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires. Building records must be kept for set periods. When we no longer need personal information, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.

Accessing or correcting your information

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. Contact us using the details below. We will respond within 30 days. We do not charge for making a request. If we cannot give you access or make a correction, we will tell you why in writing.

Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us in writing using the details below so we can look into it. We will acknowledge your complaint promptly and respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated.
